PARTS OF SPEECH: Pronouns

Lesson: Pronouns replace nouns to avoid repetition.

  • Personal pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they

  • Possessive pronouns: mine, yours, hers

  • Reflexive pronouns: myself, yourself

Example:

  • Noun: Sarah is reading a book. Sarah likes the book.

  • Pronoun: Sarah is reading a book. She likes it.

Activity:

  • Replace nouns with pronouns: “John and Mary went to the park. John and Mary played football.”

  • Answer: “John and Mary went to the park. They played football.”
